When the day grows quiet and the village lights come on, Tam Coc reveals a different rhythm of life.
This evening experience is not about sightseeing — it is an invitation into a real family home, where cooking, eating, and sharing stories happen naturally, just as they have for generations.
Gather around a shared table to cook, eat, and experience Vietnamese hospitality
in its most genuine form.
More than a meal — this is a night of stories, laughter, and human connection
inside a 100-year-old family home.
Begin your journey at Tam Coc Museum, where you’ll explore the daily life of ancient Vietnamese farmers, rice cultivation traditions, and handmade tools that tell stories of centuries past.
After the museum, take a short scenic walk through the rice fields and narrow village lanes to Mr. Khoa’s home — one of the oldest and most beautiful traditional houses in Tam Coc. This remarkable home still preserves centuries-old stone pillars and wooden beams, standing as a living piece of local heritage.
When you arrive, you’ll be warmly welcomed by Mr. Khoa’s family, who will invite you into their kitchen to join a hands-on cooking session. Together, you’ll prepare four authentic Vietnamese dishes, learning traditional methods passed down through generations — such as rolling crispy spring rolls, preparing banana flower salad, grilling pork with lemongrass, and stir-frying vegetables.
As the food is prepared, the family will also cook additional local specialties — homemade dishes that are unique to the Tam Coc countryside, made with fresh ingredients from their own garden and farm. These extra dishes are prepared with love and care, giving you a true taste of the region’s local cuisine — something you won’t find in any restaurant.
After cooking, you’ll sit down together for a six-dish family dinner, joined by the hosts and their relatives. You’ll share stories, toast with local rice wine, and enjoy a cozy, laughter-filled evening illuminated by lantern light.
This experience is far more than a meal — it’s a window into Vietnamese hospitality, heritage, and togetherness.
You’ll leave not just full, but truly connected to the people and the place.
