Share dinner, stories and traditional folk dance with a local family in Ninh Binh.
Khoa’s House is a traditional 100-year-old family home in Tam Coc, preserved with care by Mr. Khoa and his family. Its tiled roof, old wooden and stone pillars, family altar and peaceful bonsai garden hold the memories of several generations.
During this intimate evening experience, Mr. Khoa welcomes you as a dear guest and shares personal stories about the house, his family and the changing way of life in Tam Coc. You will enjoy a home-cooked Vietnamese dinner before experiencing traditional music and folk dance, including a performance inspired by Cô Đôi Thượng Ngàn.
There is no grand stage and no polished tourist production. By spending an evening here, you are also helping a local family preserve their ancestral home and keep its cultural traditions alive.
This is not a show. It is an evening shared with a local family.
For Mr. Khoa, protecting this traditional house means more than maintaining an old building. It means preserving the place where generations of his family lived, gathered and honoured their ancestors.
As traditional houses gradually disappear, welcoming visitors gives Mr. Khoa a meaningful way to share its history and encourage the next generation to value their heritage. During your visit, he will introduce the house’s architecture, family altar and personal stories that cannot be found in a guidebook.
Every evening spent at Khoa’s House helps keep this 100-year-old home—and the memories within it—alive.
Your evening begins with a personal welcome and a short introduction to Khoa’s House. Afterwards, everyone gathers around the family table for a home-cooked Vietnamese dinner in a warm and intimate setting.
The evening continues with traditional music and folk dance, including a performance inspired by Cô Đôi Thượng Ngàn, a sacred figure associated with the mountains and forests in Vietnamese Mother Goddess belief.
There is no distant stage. Guests sit close to the performers and may be invited to hold a fan and learn a few gentle movements.
