Unlike many tourist walking trails, the paths in Phoenix Valley were not designed for visitors.

They were created through daily life.

Since the mid-1990s, Mr. Phuong and his family have lived and farmed in the valley, gradually transforming what was once a largely undeveloped landscape into productive rice fields, gardens, and walking routes.

The long rows of trees that now provide shade throughout the valley were planted by the family over decades.

Today, these mature trees create a cool green corridor where visitors can walk slowly, listen to birds, watch free-ranging goats, and experience a quieter side of Ninh Binh.

There are no ticket gates.

No crowds.

Just nature and the rhythm of countryside life.

Many travelers search for off-the-beaten-path destinations in Ninh Binh but end up visiting places that are already well known.

Phoenix Valley remains different.

The valley is hidden between limestone mountains, creating a natural basin surrounded by dramatic scenery on three sides.

Beneath Phoenix Valley lies Hope Cavern, a nearly 300-meter natural cave explored on foot with a local guide and headlamp.

Unlike many caves in Ninh Binh that are viewed from a boat, Hope Cavern allows visitors to enter the underground landscape directly.
